She is a mother of a Special Forces
active duty Marine (Recon-Sniper), and she truly understands
what it means to be "touched by war".
She is deeply involved in the Quilts of Valor project and makes
some of them too.
Quilts of Valor are a powerful
tactile, comforting "Thank You" for our Veterans and Troops. She
is in awe of the power of our Quilts having witnessed the
healing power in action as servicemen and women are enveloped in
a loving cocoon by the Quilts. Many Veterans, upon being
awarded their QOV, state it was the first time they were ever
really thanked for their service.
She presented three Quilts of
Valor to three of our Branch Veterans!

We are very thankful for her recognition of our veterans.
The quilts each take about a year to complete the finished product. All have a unique design, made with fabrics provided by the quilter. Both men and women take time out of their busy schedules to provide these quilts to our veterans.
Ernie Huesby, Dave Jeong, and George Center received their quilts with broad smiles and the luncheon attendees’ applause. Jerilyn spoke individually to each Sir and expressed the quilter’s gratitude for the men’s service to our country. It was a fitting tribute and one Ernie, Dave, and George will not forget. On the back side of the quilt was the veteran’s name with Quilts of Valor embroidery label. SIR Branch 62 salutes all of the men and ladies who served their country in times of battle.
